What runs on this site

Google Analytics 4

Measurement ID G-H9DDCPNY0N, loaded on every page with anonymize_ip switched on. It sets Google Analytics cookies in your browser and tells us how many people read which pages, and how many worksheets are generated and with which settings (range, exercise, whether a school name was added), and how often the 1-100 chart is printed. We do not use it to build advertising audiences and we do not link it to any advertising product.

Worksheets

The worksheet generator runs in your browser. The numbers, the sheet, the printouts and the exports are made on your device; what you type, including a school or class name, is not sent to us. A sheet’s link carries its recipe (range, exercise, question count, a random seed and the school name if you added one) in the address itself.

Nothing else

There is no account, no sign-in, no newsletter, no comment form and no shopping basket.

The worksheet shelf

The shelf is not switched on for this site at present: the generator shows no Keep this sheet button and nothing about a sheet is stored by us. On the sites where it is on, it works as follows.

The worksheet generator works without sending anything anywhere. If you press Keep this sheet, the recipe for that sheet (the number range, exercise type, question count, options and a random seed, about a hundred characters) is stored on a small service we run, so the same sheet and its answer key can be opened again from its address. Your device keeps a key to your shelf in localStorage, under nia-shelf-key, written only when you press Keep. There is no account and no password.

If you ask for your shelf by email, we store that address with the shelf and send you a single-use link that works for seven days. The email goes through Microsoft Azure Communication Services and we do not send anything else to it. We do not store anything about students: a kept sheet is a recipe, not a filled-in page.

To remove everything, open your shelf and choose Delete the shelf and every sheet on it; that deletes the recipes, the email address and the keys at once. Kept sheets that nobody deletes are retained while the service runs; sheets that are not kept are not stored.

No advertising

No advertising network runs on this site: no ad tag, no retargeting pixel and no third-party ad frame on any page.

Links out

Pages name their sources (grammars, dictionaries, the Unicode Standard) and link to them where they are online. These are plain reference links with no affiliate programme or tracking parameter. Once you follow one you are on that site and its own privacy policy applies. More about the site is on the about page.
